Located in southern Sweden, Vellinge Municipality is a growing coastal community with around 38,000 residents. Known for high‑quality public services and a strong focus on development, the municipality has long aimed to stay at the forefront of digital transformation. For its nearly 1,500 employees working across education, social services, urban development, and administration, digital tools play a vital role in everyday work.
When Vellinge Municipality prepared to introduce Microsoft 365 Copilot, the goal was clear: technology should create real value in daily work. To succeed, employees needed more than access to AI capabilities – they needed confidence, clarity, and inspiration. After recommendations from other municipalities, Vellinge Municipality chose Storyals as its partner. Together, Storyals and Vellinge Municipality designed a Copilot Kickstart program tailored to the organization’s needs. Over eight weeks, employees and managers took part in a clear and pedagogical learning journey, combining live sessions, weekly tips, hands‑on exercises, and a Copilot Chat webinar for the entire organization. With guidance from Storyals’ productivity experts, Copilot quickly became more than a new tool – it became a new way of working.
The results were visible early on. Employee confidence increased, curiosity grew, and engagement spread across the organization. At the same time, Vellinge Municipality established a shared structure for rolling out Copilot in a scalable, secure, and sustainable way. Thomas Jarbo, Head of IT and Digitalization at Vellinge Municipality, reflects:
“Storyals’ combination of pedagogy, inspiration, and practical guidance helped our employees get started with Copilot quickly and feel confident using it in their daily work. We didn’t just build digital skills – we also created a shared platform for evolving how we work going forward.”
From a business development perspective, the collaboration delivered lasting value. For Vellinge Municipality, the Copilot journey has been as much about people as it has been about technology. Today, Vellinge Municipality has laid the foundation for a more efficient, innovative, and future‑ready way of working – where technology empowers people, and continuous learning is part of everyday life.
“Together with Storyals, we were able to translate our needs into a concrete and actionable training plan. We’ve received strong support in our ambition to build digital competence sustainably across the organization,”
